founded in 1918, the academy of prosthodontics is the oldest specialty organization in prosthetic dentistry      mission   the academy's mission is to promote the art and science of prosthodontics to the profession and the public, to disseminate knowledge concerning prosthodontics throughout the profession, to encourage study and investigation of the various phases of prosthodontics and related subjects, and to provide or conduct outreach services to the community of need.
