Dr. Ross Tallents

Dr. Ross Tallents was born in Oswego, NY to Helen and George Tallents. He graduated from Albany School of
Pharmacy and then worked as a
pharmacist in order to graduate from Georgetown School of Dentistry. Initially he completed a dental internship at Eastman Dental Center (EDC) and then started a General Dentistry practice. A few years later, he completed The Prosthodontics Program at EDC, began his private Prosthodontic and TMJ Disorder practice. Then initiated his illustrious teaching career at EDC that spanned decades. He was a Professor in the Departments of Prosthodontics, Orthodontics and the Founding Program Director of the TMJ Disorders Program; eventually becoming the Director.
Over 150 journal articles and book chapters have been published. He also lectured nationally and internationally about TMJ Disorders. He mentored countless students – sharing his knowledge, passion, and commitment to excellence. Ross earned a certificate from the Council of National Board of Dental Examiners and the EDC Directors Award.
Dr. Tallents’ life was a testament to the power of intellect, compassion, and determination. His pioneering research, loving spirit, and dedication to his family have left an extraordinary legacy. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and inspired.
