Esthetics in the Age of Monolithic Restorations

Time: May 21, 2021 11:15 AM - 11:55 AM
Speaker: Mr. Don Cornell

Rapid improvements in CAD/CAM materials have created a growing demand for monolithic restorations. With roughly 85% of all metal free restorations now monolithic, dental technologists must find new materials and techniques for achieving esthetic outcomes traditionally only possible with ceramic layering. In this presentation, Mr. Cornell will look critically at CAD/CAM materials, where we are today and where we are headed, and how to achieve exceptional esthetic outcomes with monolithic restorations.

Learning Objectives:
1. The influence of various core materials on esthetic outcomes
2. How we interpret translucency, absorption and reflection of light and color
3. The role of Color and Contrast in achieving 3 dimensional depth and vitality
